ABOUT US

Launched in 2023, ProRep Coalition is a nonprofit with a mission to enable multiparty democracy in California through education and coalition-building for Proportional Representation.  ProRep brings together Californians who believe a better democracy is possible — one in which all voices are heard.

We are a coalition of political parties, activists, academics, and non-profit organizations that are seeding a grassroots movement for meaningful electoral reform. Together, we will bridge the gap between the public demand for change and real action, because California deserves a 21st-century democratic system capable of addressing 21st-century challenges.

WHO WE ARE

OUR COALITION

Working together to bring proportional representation to the Golden State.

Reforming California's electoral system isn't going to happen overnight. It's a big lift, and the major parties have little interest in pursuing an electoral reform that distributes political power fairly. So if we want a multiparty democracy, we're going to have to do the lifting ourselves.

Fortunately, we're not alone. ProRep is a growing coalition of alternative parties and advocacy organizations leading a grassroots movement to adopt proportional representation in California’s State Legislature.

Join the Coalition

We believe democratic reforms should be produced democratically.

One of ProRep's primary goals is to form a broad, inclusive coalition that represents and reflects the full breadth of our state’s diversity. We’re committed to working with all groups open to advocating for proportional representation regardless of their political preferences, financial resources, or organizational mission.

The only requirements we have of coalition members is that they support proportional representation, support democracy, and do not endorse violence or engage in hate speech.

If your party or organization is interested in learning more about our efforts or joining the coalition, please fill out the form below and we’ll get back to you within a week!
